At Illuminate, we believe every woman should be able to fully participate in our community. That includes making our website and conferences as accessible as possible.
Our Accessibility Standard
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. It is the technical standard courts and regulators most often use to evaluate accessibility, even though no specific law names it for events and websites like ours. That covers keyboard access, color contrast, clear labeling, and giving you control over anything that moves on its own.
Where we are today
We recently completed an accessibility review of this site and made a round of fixes:
- Every menu, button, and dialog can now be operated by keyboard alone
- Text and interface colors were measured and adjusted to meet contrast requirements
- The focus indicator stays visible on both light and dark sections
- A "skip to main content" link lets you bypass the header on every page
- The sponsor carousel and the home page video both have play and pause controls
- Neither one moves if your device asks for reduced motion
- Form fields, error messages, and the sponsorship benefits table are now labeled for screen readers
Accessibility is not a one-time project, and we do not claim this site is perfect. Some content on this site comes from third-party tools, including our ticketing provider's checkout window. While we do not control those tools, we encourage our providers to improve accessibility and continue to monitor their progress.
If any part of registration or checkout is a barrier for you, email info@illuminateyourjourney.org and we will complete your purchase with you directly, by phone or email. You do not need to explain why.

If you hit a barrier on this site or at one of our events, we want to know. Tell us what you were trying to do, the page or session it happened on, and the device or assistive technology you were using. That detail helps us fix it faster.
